All she could understand was that her brother was very sick and her parents were completely out of money.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Her parents were talking about how costly surgery was and it was looking like there was no one to loan them money.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Just then she heard, dad said to her tearful mother with whispered desperation, <strong>\u201cOnly a miracle can save him now.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Listening to this Tess went to her bedroom and bought out her piggy bank from its hiding place in closet. She broke it and collected all that money. She carefully counted it.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>She took a small purse, placed coins in it and slipped out of back door and made her way six blocks to Drug store.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>She waited patiently for pharmacist to give her some attention but he was too busy at this moment. She made some noise with her feet to grab attention but nothing. Then she cleared her throat with most disgusting sound she could muster but still no good.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Finally she took a quarter from her pocket and banged it on glass counter and that did it. She got pharmacist attention.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Pharmacist asked in annoyed tone of voice, <strong>\u201cAnd what do you want?\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Without waiting for reply to his question, he said, <strong>\u201cI am busy. I am talking to my brother whom I haven\u2019t seen in ages.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Tess answered back, <strong>\u201cWell, I want to talk to you about my brother. He is really really sick\u2026 and I want to buy a miracle.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'><strong>\u201cI beg your pardon?\u201d, said pharmacist.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Tess said, <strong>\u201cHis name is Andy and he has something bad growing inside his head and my dad says only a miracle can save him now. So how much does a miracle cost?\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'><strong>\u201cWe don\u2019t sell miracles here, little girl. I am sorry but I can\u2019t help you.\u201d, said pharmacist in softening a little.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Tess replied, <strong>\u201cI have money to pay for it. If it isn\u2019t enough, I will get the rest. Just tell me how much it costs.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Pharmacist brother who was standing there, seeing all this, he stooped down and asked little girl, <strong>\u201cWhat kind of miracle does your brother need?\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'><strong>\u201cI don\u2019t know.\u201d, Tess replied with tears in her eyes, <strong>\u201cI don\u2019t know. I just know that he is really sick and my mommy says that he needs an operation but my dad can\u2019t pay for it, so I want to use my money.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'><strong>\u201cHow much do you have?\u201d, he asked.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Tess answered, <strong>\u201cOne dollar and eleven cents\u2026 It\u2019s all I have but I can get some more if I need to.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>He smiled and said, <strong>\u201cWell, what a coincidence. A dollar and eleven cents is exact price of a miracle for little brother.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Then he took her money in one hand and with other hand he grasped her mitten and said, <strong>\u201cTake me to where you live. I want to see your brother and meet your parents. Let\u2019s see if I have the kind of miracle you need.\u201d\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>That man, pharmacist brother was Dr. Carlton Armstrong, a surgeon, specializing in neurosurgery.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Little girl\u2019s brother operation was completed without any charge and it wasn\u2019t long until Andy was hone again and doing well. Tess mom and dad were happily talking about chain of events that took place.\n<p><span style='\"font-size:'>Her mom whispered, <strong>\u201cThat surgery, I wonder how much it would have cost.
